At JC’s Kitchen, baking isn’t just a business—it’s a tradition rooted in family, community, and the simple joy of sharing something made with care.
Founded in 2016 by Curtis King and Joseph Houchens, JC’s Kitchen began just because we enjoyed baking for our family and has since branched out to our community as a home-based cottage bakery under Maryland’s Cottage Food Law. What started with a love for food and in 2025 our sourdough has grown into a full table of breads, rum cakes, and homemade treats that bring warmth and nostalgia to every bite.
We believe in quality over shortcuts—that means family recipes, wholesome ingredients, and the same attention to detail you’d give your own family’s kitchen. Every loaf and cake we bake is small-batch, made right in our home, and delivered with the kind of personal touch you can’t get from a big box store.
